InControl Medical InTone

The InTone treats underlying causes of urinary incontinence in women as it strengthens the pelvic floor muscles and calms the over-active detrusor muscle. Women who experience urinary incontinence often find themselves having to get up several times a night to use the bathroom and experience leaking while coughing, sneezing or exercising. Dealing with leaks is embarrassing and medications and pads used to treat these issues can be expensive and inconvenient. The InTone is a non-invasive incontinence treatment that can be done in the privacy and comfort of your own home.

The InTone is applied intravaginally and uses electrical stimulation to reach the levator ani of the pelvic floor and the external urethral sphincter, causing them to contract and strengthen. These stronger areas will give women more control over their bladder and avoid leaks. When used on the low frequency mode, the InTone calms the detrusor muscle and reduces spasms.

InTone sessions take 12 minutes to complete and should initially be done 6 days a week. As you start to notice results, these sessions will slowly become less frequent. Many users start to notice significant improvement in a few weeks. When the desired results are reached, the user will only need to do one to two sessions a week to maintain muscle strength. During each session, the InTone provides biofeedback for patients. The voice-guided therapy program instructs patients on what to do throughout the sessions. It directs them as to when voluntary contractions are needed and when to relax. The lighted visual biofeedback times voluntary contractions and lets users know how quickly or slowly they should contract. At the end of each session, quantifiable data is provided so that the physicians and patients can see the improvement.
